Introducing West Auckland Chiropractor Nick Laurie

My friends and family thought I was nuts when I came home and told them that I was going to become a Chiropractor.

Chiropractor Nick LaurieI had moved from Auckland and owned a successful business selling fishing tackle in Sydney, Australia. I was also attempting to pursue a professional rugby league career. The rigours of playing league led me to a Chiropractor who turned out to be such an inspirational character, that I sold my business and took my young family to the USA to study Chiropractic. I had found a profession where I could give something to people.

I started my Chiropractic education in South Carolina and was happy with life as a student there. I did miss the kiwi lifestyle and when a Chiropractic school was started in New Zealand in 1994 and it was an easy decision to move my family back home for a well rounded education. The programme now has a great international reputation and graduates from the NZCC are highly sought after. I achieved a Bachelor of Science at Auckland University in 1997 as a prerequisite to my Bachelor of Chiropractic at the New Zealand College of Chiropractic. I graduated in February 2000.

The key thing that drew me to Chiropractic was it's simplicity. You can't be your best if your spine is not working properly. Everyday I am able to enhance human potential. I take care of people of all ages, from newborns to more experienced with the oldest being 92.

Chiropractor Nick Laurie with his wife, SarahI am married to Sarah and have 4 children. We live in the beautiful East Coast Bays and participate in sports ranging from netball and karate to soccer and rugby. I am still competing at a national level in surf boat rowing and have run 3 marathons this year.

I know, first hand the value of regular Chiropractic care. I have my spine checked at least once a week, exercise at least 5 times a week and have not had a day off work due to illness in 8 years. I firmly believe in a natural approach to healthcare. I am walking proof that it works!

Enough about me! How can we help you with today's safe and natural Chiropractic care? Give us a call, or email me on the link below, so we can help you take your first step towards better health.

Can those with osteoporosis get chiropractic care?
Of course. When developing a care plan, we consider the unique circumstances of each patient. There are many ways we can adjust the spine. The chiropractic method we select will be best suited to your age, size and unique situation.
What's the difference between chiropractic and medicine?
Medical treatment focuses on the disease or the symptom. Chiropractic focuses on the person with the disease or the symptom. Medical treatment usually involves changing blood chemistry. Chiropractic involves restoring nervous system integrity. Medical doctors prescribe medicine. Chiropractors adjust the spine—a common source of nervous system interference.
